Wesak Day!

Today is Wesak Day...which is the day that marks the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. This year I couldn't go to temple to pray cause I am not in my hometown but in Penang for my Industrial Training stint. I know there are temples here in Pg but despite being in Pg for nearly two years; I am still not familiar with the routes here and I don't go out so often to explore Pg. hehhehe....neways, today I shall be a vegetarian for the day.(maybe tmr also...see how lar) After my exam the other day on May 2nd, I went back to Mlk for a few days (bout 4 days)came back to Pg on the 6th May night. Took the opportunity to relax and enjoy after slogging for exams the past one and half months. Went out dinner with my friends and hang out with them. Spent some time with my bf and then Sat morning I attended my friend's wedding ceremony. She was my ex colleague when I was working in EON Bank previously and we still keep in touch after I left for my studies in USM. Well it was the traditional chinese wedding where the groom and his entourage come to "jemput" his wife. They had the tea ceremony before moving out to the groom and bride's new house where the groom's family was there for the reception. It was fun with the usual silly pranks on the groom and his best man and mates as well. I went to her place very early around 8 something to accompany and help her. She was already dressed and had her makeup done by her stylist friend. The only thing that was not ready yet was the putting up of the veil. This had to be done with the presence of the parent ( in my friend's case her uncle and aunty as her parents have passed away) They will hold the veil and attached it to her head with the help of the stylist after a photo was taken. It is juz to signify that they are showing their love before letting her go to her husband's family. Hope u get what I mean. Neways, I accompanied her with another bank colleague whom I also know while the bride's younger cousins as she has no brother or sisters, played the pranks on the groom and his entourage. They had him and his entourage ate a carrot, tied baloons to the groom's head, sing a love song(they sang twinkle twinkle little star instead of a love song), say I LOVE YOU in five languages and answered some questions. The first two task was initially thuoght by the cousins whereas the balance three was my suggestion which included one more task which they din do which is pumping...hehhehe... When I attended my cousins' wedding, we played much more interesting pranks on the groom so for my friend's husband it was kinda tame.hahha...Neways, I followed the bride and groom in their best man's car to their new house. Chatted with them as it took some time to reach the destination. It was really fun...the only sad thing was I din get to go for the dinner at night cause my bus was at 10pm. So I missed my friend's wedding dinner. She gave me a picture of both of them attired in Korean style wedding garments. It is a very nice and lovely picture. =) After I got back to Pg, I started my Industrial Training on Monday, 8th May. This week we din not do much (there are six trainees but divided to two groups as there are two divisions. Four which includes me are put under the Cell Molecular Division while another two are under the Immunoassay Division) We juz observed how the reaserchers work and absorbed as much as we can on whatever they taught us. It is really eye opener as normally in school lab, certain chemicals or experiments were prepared by the lab assistants before hand while we juz learned the theory of the experiment. At the Renogenic Lab, we got to see first hand how they prepare for the experiment and carrying out the experiment. It is a really tedious and occupying task to do the preparation so the result will be concise and consistant. Next week we will be introduced to some task and will be given the chance to have hands on experience on it. Hehhehe... The past few days I will look up on the internet on the stuffs they had taught us briefly every night before going to bed to gain more insight on it. At least I dun feel so blur blur on the experiment that they carry out. Ok lar...that's all for now. Want to do some research and studying liao. Will tell u guys more later bout what experiment they do and what's the uses. =) Aurevoir!
