Plant physiology experiment due to end soon. Pics!

Actually, dun really feel like blogging... having mood swings I guess. But to blog seems to be one of the best way I can think off to occupy my mind. Well a busy mind is better than leaving it to wander... just like the saying a free mind is a devil's workshop. Neways, my plant physiology experiment is going to end soon. We will be taking the growth measurements of both long beans plants and lady's fingers plants before clearing everything and turning the greenhouse to its original state. More long beans have sprouted and the previous ones were harvested by the lab assistant who is in charge of the green house. What he did to the long beans, I have no idea (brought it back home for his wife to cook I guess....hehhe...) but the weird thing is he left the lady's fingers alone. Din touched them at all. Throughout the experiment, the lady's fingers plants bore three fruits only and all of them are from pails where there is nutrient deficient while the ones with all the nutrient (as control) din bear any fruits at all. Feedback on my brochure in class...

This was the feedback I got after presenting my brochure to the class....lets juz say it was not as I expected.

me : gd morning everyone, I have a very interesting brochure to show u...It is specially dedicated for the guys.
class : Hmm.....*serious glances at me*
me : Uhm(gulps)...Well....bla...bla....bla ( presents my brochure with sound effect and gestures added)

after a period of roughly 5 to 7 minutes...my presentation was done and the Q&A sessions begins

teacher : any questions anyone??!!
student 1 : what is the cost like?
me : well, it depends on the individuals as the service is tailored to their needs. So, the cost might differ from one individual to another.
teacher : at least give us a cost range. I'm sure everyone wants to know whether their budget can afford it.
me : right. I would say that ..uhm... roughly that it will be below RM100
teacher : ok. Is it done by a professionnally trained person? or by students on part-time basis?
me : Since we are all university students, so it is more towards freelancing service by students to students.
student 2: how is it different than we juz asking our friend's opinion?
teacher : yes, tell us the difference...
me : *starting to panic*(tough one) Uhmm...well.. we offer a more wider range of suggestions for improvement.
student 3: can girls get them too?
me : well, it is more for the guys. Actually, we are doing this makeover for guys in the girls' point of view. So, it is more to helping the guys.
teacher : well, is it more for the singles? or also for those who are in relationships?
me : Both are welcome. For those guys who are attached, it'll juz help add some spice to their relationship.
teacher : right. any more questions? yes, go ahead student 4
me : (ahh..some more arr...aiyooo)
student 4: uhm...how long does it takes? and btw what's ur contact number?
me : (uh-o....aiya, i forgot) whoopps!!hehehhe...
teacher : *smilling* It seems she forgot about it. Next time do remember to put contact number so potential customers are able to make appointments or enquiries. Now, for the other question.How long does it takes for a session?
me : well, it depends on each person. some might need more than one session or juz one session is enough.
teacher : Does it takes long to get an appointment?
me : Well, no. It's very fast. The max session per customer is 3 and like I said earlier some juz need a session for their makeover.
student 5: Where is your place located?
me : Actually, we are very flexible. We can set up our services at your prefered place whenever you are free.
teacher : Right. Any more questions?
me : (please...please...no more...) *fingers crossed*
class : *shook their heads*
teacher : ok. Thank you, Jamie. Next group's presenter...
me : phew...*breathes a sigh of relief and heads back to seat*

Despite the brochure being a group work thing, it was more of my idea and my putting lots of effort into it with the rough sketches, preparing the presentation and not forgetting presenting it and later on being bombarded by SO MANY QUESTIONS!!! the other groups were questioned so so... Luckily, everything went well...I did have some jitters while presenting and during the Q&A session. All's well ends well... hehehhe...

Tell me what you think of my brochure...

As what I typed in post earlier that I have something interesting to blog about...Well it is actually my english assignment. We are supposed to do a brochure to promote a product, service or create awareness on some facts and then present it in class. After that have an Q&A session. My group consists of five ppl (all girls) and we decided to promote a service. The first idea of service which was suggested by one of my group members was money-lending service a.k.a tai-yi-long or ah-long.(or more notoriusly known...loan-shark) hehehhe...After the teacher found out bout our topic, she carefully broached us to change it to something more light,fun,funny or outrageously silly...ahem..ahem..by giving us alot of subtle hints...hehhe... In the end, after class was over, we decided to have another discussion later in the evening on another topic.Then, we went for classes as usual. I had a test from 3-5pm...(accounting)which i finished early and went along with Sze Li to the next class's venue. So, I sat there thinking of a suitable service to promote. Had a few ideas like trip to the moon, speed-dating and etc etc until I hit upon the idea of pets-pampering service(pets wash and cut/curl,specially cooked meals,pets boutique, pets walking/gym.As my mind goes into hyper mode to think of what more to add the the service...suddenly another more interesting idea pop up which was taken from the show Queer Eye for A Straight Guy... Hehehe.... Well I adapted it to suit my group lar...
Which in the end sounds like this Queer Eye for a Guy cause since none of my group members and I are males or gay....Hehehe... Seems the same eh.. wait till u see the brochure.... I have two roughly drawn brochures... where the first was done during the discussion and the latter at home with much more pictorial expressions. After which I enlisted the help of Sze Li, my housemate-cum-coursemate who is good in drawings. The funny thing was... while she was drawing the pics,her mind wandered so far and we ended up in fits of laughters from the nonsensical thoughts and talks. hehhehe... well... I'm sure you are anxious to see the pic of how the brochure turned out...hold your horses... here it is........

Wahh...so many Birthdayssss??!!

Did you know that March is the longest among the other months????... No, right??! Hehehe...This is the month where my circle of friends and family's birthday falls...I buy their b'day prezzies until I become bancrupt ler...
waaaaa... My mommy's b'day falls on the 15 of this month and coincidentally, one of my coursemate, Audrey whose b'day also falls on the same day. Juz got my mum a card and wished her on that day... here is the pic of the card which I added some graffitti(sort of) onto it..heheh...



then the next day which is the 16th is my housemate-cum-coursemate, Sze Li's b'day. We went to KFC to celebrate her birthday in the evening of that day along with Audrey's and another coursemate, Janet whose birthday falls on the 21st . right...still got some more birthday pics..this time it is my grannie's birthday!. I took an afternoon bus down to KL to join in the celebration. beria-ia man...hehehe..Upon reaching KL nearing to the city centre ... I got motion sickness pula... luckily I didn't vommitted but juz feel VERY dizzy and pangs of nausea waves hit me...Sigh, this is why I dun like to sit day bus... the thing is..I had to wait for my sis to come get me at PUDU station. While waiting for her ( she took the LRT) I sat at a bench opposite a hot dog stall and next to a coffee station called Pronto Coffee... Dizzy as I was.. and my headache pounding like mad.. I managed to witness a argument between a lady and her bf I think. She was draped from head to toe with a bagpack, her laptop, and other smaller begs as she walk past me sulking. AND she was doing it loudly as in showing her tantrum.. as she neared her bf who was standing in front of the Pronto Coffee station, she began to scold her bf.. very loudly ..in front of everyone... Well, it would be very loud if it weren't for the fact that PUDU was so crowded and noisy. Despite her bf's effort to soothe and calm her down..she kept on merajuking and scolding him.. In the end, her bf got pissed off and scolded her back before stalking off... He took a round I think cause I saw him passing me at opposite end of Pronto Coffee... And she juz kept looking at him furiously...hehhe...aiyoo..common lar.. must the fella some face also what... scold him so loud in front of so many ppl.. sure he angry also ma...it will juz only reflect how spoiled you are lar ah che....heheh...Neways, back to my grannie's b'day celebration. Well, that night, I took my dinner with my sis at nearly 11pm then later pass out at her apartment til the next morning. The next morning, my sis and I joined my 3rd uncle, his wife and 5th aunty in sending my cousin off at the airport. He is on a study trip to Taiwan for three weeks... after that we went to do some marketing before heading to my 3rd uncle's place where my grannie is staying. We had mi sua for brunch and some sardine sandwiches and banana cake for tea. After that, my sis and I went to Subang Parade to get my grannie a present. Din know what to buy for her so we ended up buying a bouquet of two-toned orange and yellow roses for her. Then met up with my parents who had arrived at my 5th aunty's place at the same time we went to Subang Parade. Later , the 11 of us (grannie, my parents, my sis, my 2nd uncle, my 3rd uncle and his wife, my 4th uncle and his wife and lastly my 5th aunty)went to Easting Hotel where we had buffet dinner and the spread was hot and flamming. Nice spread of mouth-watering dishes...After dinner..we went back to my 3rd uncle's house for the cake-cutting occasion. Feeling very full and stuffed... I head back with my sis to her apartment for the night and my parents and 2nd uncle went to my 5th aunty's place. After brunch the next morning... I followed my parents down to Melaka. So, I was in Melaka on last Sunday but juz for a few hours as I took the night bus back to Penang that night. Here are some pcs of my grannie's birthday!!

Picture Updates of Plant Physiology Experiment

Here are the picture updates on my plant physiology experiment...the pictures were taken yesterday morning... the picture of the plant on the left is deficient of the mineral Ca. There should be two replicates in one pail but one of the replicate wilted and dead. So the other replicate is growing well but showing some of the Ca deficient symptoms...not very obvious though...hehhehe. The picture below is another pail which the two replicates have wilted and died. The deficient mineral is also Ca.

Yup...the long beans plants have sprouted a few long beans as well....hehhehe.....That's all for the moment... will try to update somemore before the experiment ends... Aurevoir!!! =)

Malam Kungfu at USM Penang

Yesterday night after dinner around 7.30pm, my housemates and I went for a martial arts performance - Malam Kunfuwhich was held at Dewan Tuanku Syed Putra (DTSP) - {the hall where all USM graduates receive their graduation scrolls} in USM. As one of my housemate and I were trying to squeeze our way through the overcrowded and long queue just to get into the entrance of DTSP hall, a lion dance was performed to mark the start of the night's event. Below is the picture that I manage to take using my hp. Not very clear...{try taking picture while u are stuck in the middle of an overcrowded and moving queue then u'll understand my situation...}hehehe....


Neways, after we had settled down at our free seatings.. I managed to take some pictures of the prelude performance before the speeches of the Yg Dipertua of Kelab Kungfu and the Yang Berhormats that they have invited. It was kinda frustrating while taking the pictures cause of the tall person seated in front of me keeps moving his head to the right side to talk to his "girl friend" which was where the space gap that my camera was focused. GRrrr...feel like strangling him after awhile...However, I din managed to take further pictures after the first performance as I was not feeling well and had to go back to the apartment. It a pity that I had to missed the performances but health comes first.My housemate did take the remainder performance pictures...so here they are...
